How much tile adhesive do I need per square metre?
As a guide, allow about 3kg to 5kg of adhesive per square metre for walls with a notched trowel, and around 5kg to 8kg per square metre for floors, depending on tile size and bed thickness.
Adhesive usage depends on the trowel notch, the tile size and how flat the surface is. For wall tiling with a standard notched trowel, allow roughly 3kg to 5kg of powdered adhesive per square metre. Floors, larger tiles and solid bed fixing use more, often 5kg to 8kg per square metre.
Bigger format tiles need a deeper bed and full coverage, so always check the adhesive data sheet for the recommended usage.
Otis takes the area, tile size and fixing method, works out bags of adhesive and grout, checks stock and prices them for the account.
