Tile Calculator
Estimate how many tiles you need for a wall or floor, plus a rough guide to adhesive and grout.
Tile count is exact for your area plus waste (allow more for diagonal layouts or lots of cuts). Adhesive and grout vary a lot with tile size, notch and bed depth, treat those two as a rough guide and check the bag.

How to use the tile calculator
Enter the area you are tiling and your tile size, and the calculator returns how many tiles and boxes you need, including a wastage allowance for cuts and the odd breakage. Working in boxes helps you order sensibly and keep a few spares from the same batch for future repairs.

How much wastage should I add for tiling?
Add about 10% for straightforward layouts, and up to 15, 20% for diagonal patterns, small rooms with lots of cuts, or large format tiles.
How many tiles come in a box?
It varies by tile size and brand, the box states its coverage in m². The calculator converts your area into the number of boxes once you enter the tile size.
