MPAN and MPRN numbers explained
These are the numbers that identify your energy supply. Knowing what they are makes switching and checking your bills far easier, and OptiFlow Watch handles them for you.
The reference for your supply
Your MPAN, or Meter Point Administration Number, is the unique reference for your electricity supply. It is a long number printed on your bill, sometimes called the supply number, and it stays with the property rather than the supplier, so it does not change when you switch. Your MPRN, or Meter Point Reference Number, is the same idea for gas. Together they tell suppliers exactly which supply point they are quoting for, which is why you are asked for them when you get a quote or switch.
You do not need to memorise them, but knowing they exist and where to find them makes checking a bill or moving supplier much less daunting. OptiFlow Watch reads them straight off your bills, so you never have to hunt for a number to get an accurate quote.
