What fall should guttering have?
Guttering needs a slight, even fall towards the downpipe so water runs away rather than sitting. A common working figure is around 3mm of fall per metre of run.
Gutters are set with a gentle fall towards the outlet so rainwater drains to the downpipe instead of pooling or overflowing. A widely used guide is around 3mm of drop for every metre of gutter, kept even along the run.
Space the brackets to the manufacturer spacing, usually around a metre apart and closer near joints and outlets, and always follow the product instructions.
Otis works out the gutter length, brackets, joints and downpipe from the run, checks stock and prices the system for the account.
